As I finish my last semester in the ADL program, I’ve been reflecting on all the learning and growth I’ve experienced. The program has helped me build skills that I can apply in digital learning and education, and I feel more confident in using technology to improve teaching and learning. In my last two classes, I was able to take my innovation plan to the next level. In 5318, I created my online course, which gave me hands-on experience in course design and how to engage learners using digital tools. It was rewarding to see my ideas come to life in the course. In 5320, I updated my innovation plan, making it stronger with feedback and new insights from the program. It’s exciting to see how much my plan has improved and how I can use it to create real change in education. Throughout the program, I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with many talented and dedicated individuals who have played a key role in helping me improve my work. One person who stands out is Paige Shaw, a brilliant colleague with whom I’ve worked closely this year. We have exchanged feedback and supported each other countless times throughout the program. Additionally, I joined a GroupMe chat for 5318, which proved to be incredibly valuable for gaining clarity and understanding specific details, making it a great resource throughout the course.

Positive outcomes

Throughout this semester, I have consistently met deadlines for assignments, actively engaged in discussions, and completed all required readings. Although I wasn’t able to attend live meetings due to extended hours at school, I made it a point to watch all the recordings. These were incredibly helpful as I worked through my assignments. Additionally, I took the feedback I received throughout the course and made adjustments where needed to improve my work and ensure it was of the highest quality.

Growth Opportunities:

During my time in these courses, I see a few areas where I can improve. One is my participation in the discussion boards. While I joined the discussions when needed, I could have been more active in responding to my peers' posts. Being more involved would have helped me better understand the material and make the discussions more meaningful.

Another area for improvement was attending the live sessions. Because of longer hours at school, I couldn’t attend, but I know that being there could have helped me learn more. Participating in the live sessions would have allowed me to ask questions and engage with the instructors and classmates, making the learning experience more interactive.

Reflecting on this final semester, I’m grateful for the knowledge and experiences I’ve gained throughout the ADL program. The skills I’ve developed will undoubtedly help me in my future career, and I’m excited to continue applying what I’ve learned to make a positive impact in education.
